{"id":201,"date":"2020-01-20T15:15:21","date_gmt":"2020-01-20T15:15:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jfmendes.myscispot.eu\/?page_id=201"},"modified":"2020-01-21T18:13:30","modified_gmt":"2020-01-21T18:13:30","slug":"cv","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jfmendes.myscispot.eu\/index.php\/cv\/","title":{"rendered":"CV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font face=\"optima\" color=\"#134d86\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"entry\">Short CV<\/p>\n<p>Professor Mendes is Professor of Physics at Physics Department, University of Aveiro.<\/p>\n<p>He earned his BA, MA and PhD in physics from University of Porto.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2010 he is Vice Rector for research and doctoral studies at University of Aveiro.<\/p>\n<p>He was Director of Physics Department from 2004 to 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining University of Aveiro he was Assistant Professor at University of Porto (1987-2002).<\/p>\n<p>In 2002, he received is habilitation (University of Porto) and was promoted to Associate Professor of Physics at university of Aveiro (2002), and a full professorship in 2005. He was researcher at several institutions (University of Geneva, University of Oxford, Boston University, UFMG-Universidade Federal Minas Gerais, CUNY, &#8230;).<\/p>\n<p>In 1995-96 Mendes was at Boston University as a postdoctoral research associate.<\/p>\n<p>He his member of the Council of INL &#8211; Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory.<\/p>\n<p>He has been awarded by the Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Calouste Gulbenkian with the Science Prize, 2004.<\/p>\n<p>Member of the Editorial Board of Scientific Reports, Journal of Complex Networks and ISRN-Combinatorics.<\/p>\n<p>He has held teaching and research positions at University Henri Poincare and UFMG.<\/p>\n<p>He was Diretor of the Associated Laboratory I3N &#8211; Institute of Nanostructures, Nanomodelling and Nanofabrication (2009-2010)<\/p>\n<p>He is a member of the Academia Europaea and Sociedade Portuguesa de Fisica<\/p>\n<p>Fellow of American Physical Society<\/p>\n<p>Fellow of NetSCi<\/p>\n<p>Jose Mendes has published more than 120 articles in scientific journals. He is co-author of two books.
